About MyEB
India's electricity awareness platform — helping millions plan around power disruptions.
Our Mission
Power cuts disrupt the lives of millions of Indians every day. Businesses lose revenue, students can't study, work-from-home professionals miss deadlines, and families are left in the dark — often with zero advance warning.
MyEB exists to change this. We believe that every citizen has the right to know when their power will be interrupted, well in advance. Our platform transforms complex government maintenance schedules into simple, actionable alerts that anyone can understand.
What We Do
Every day, electricity boards across India schedule maintenance work on substations, transformers, and transmission lines. This results in planned power cuts that are announced in technical documents most consumers never see. MyEB bridges this gap by:
- Monitoring official electricity board announcements daily
- Parsing complex schedules into area-wise, time-wise information
- Matching affected substations to residential areas using GPS mapping
- Delivering advance push notifications to affected residents
- Providing interactive maps showing affected zones
- Offering electricity tools like bill calculators, tariff guides, and complaint generators
Our Story
MyEB started in Tamil Nadu in 2026, born out of a simple frustration: there was no easy way to know if your area had a scheduled power cut tomorrow. The official TNEB schedule exists, but it's buried in technical documents with substation codes that mean nothing to regular consumers.
We built a system that reads these schedules, maps substation names to real neighborhoods using government GPS data, and alerts residents the night before. What started as a simple alert system has grown into a comprehensive electricity awareness platform with bill calculators, complaint tools, interactive maps, and coverage expanding beyond Tamil Nadu.
Our Values
Accuracy First
We use only official government data. Never rumours, never crowdsourced guesses.
Free for All
No premium tier, no subscriptions. Essential utility information should be free.
Privacy Respected

Always Improving
Our GPS mapping improves with every data publish. Self-correcting, always learning.
Coverage
Currently live: All 38 districts of Tamil Nadu — Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Salem, Erode, Tirunelveli, Thanjavur, Vellore, Dindigul, Karur, Pudukkottai, Hosur, and more.
Coming in 2026: Karnataka (Bangalore via BESCOM, Mysore via CESC).
Our goal: Cover every Indian state where official planned outage data is publicly accessible.
Technology
MyEB uses a proprietary substation-to-locality mapping system built on government GIS data. Our system maps over 1,700 TNEB substations to their geographic coordinates, then matches them to the nearest residential areas. When a power cut is announced for a substation, we can instantly identify which neighborhoods are affected — even if the official announcement only uses technical substation codes.
Our data pipeline processes new schedules within minutes of publication, cross-validates GPS coordinates against government records, and automatically corrects any mapping errors. The result: highly accurate, locality-level power cut information delivered before anyone else.
